How do you get the highest return on your kitchen renovation? Whether you're renovating for resale purposes or just to upgrade your kitchen, there are three things you should focus on:
1. Lighting. This is absolutely critical. Behind me in the video is LED pot lighting. It’s very popular right now, and we actually made this same renovation in another property we own. It can be adjusted with a dimmer switch for either a bright environment or to fit the mood of a quiet dinner.
2. Cabinets. A very cost-effective way to make this change is to have the original cabinets stripped down by a professional. Then you can resurface, resand, and restain them for a beautiful product. We did this to the cabinets behind me in the video and painted them a beautiful Country White, which is a very popular color right now.
3. Flooring. The kitchen in the video has engineered hardwood floors. The trend is to have engineered hardwood throughout the house. This is a relatively newer alternative to having ceramic in the kitchen and carpet or hardwood everywhere else. If it's mopped up and kept dry, engineered hardwood is an easy-to-maintain and scratch-resistant surface you can enjoy for years to come.
With these three changes, you can rest assured that you’ll get the best return on investment for your renovation money. On top of that, buyers and family alike will love your kitchen. If you have any questions or want more tips about renovating homes, feel free to call me. I would love to help.
