What Big Trend Are We Seeing in Real Estate?

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen some interesting trends develop. One of the most consistent trends that I’ve seen was certainly present in a listing that I sold a few months back at a record price and within record time. What made this such a hot sale? There were a few reasons:
1. It was outside the GTA. It’s located in New Tecumseth, Tottenham. It’s a town about 40 minutes north of Vaughn. People are moving further and further out of the city as they increasingly work from home or reduce their commute to work. Properties like this that are outside of the GTA are hot commodities right now.

2. It had separate apartments. This is a duplex where you can have an upper level or lower level apartment. These types of apartments with secondary suites are huge now because buyers can live in one unit and rent out the other.
3. The property itself. The fact that this property is on almost a quarter acre is very appealing for lots of folks. If you can’t leave the house much but you still have a yard for yourself and the kids to run around in, that land has become very valuable as of late.
