After reviewing their home’s evaluation, one of my clients recently asked me if they should wait to sell their property until spring or maybe late summer. I responded, “Absolutely not!”
If you have a specific reason to wait until the spring or summer, then by all means, you should wait. If you don’t have a good reason to wait, then you won’t want to miss out on some of the unique benefits that our market offers right now:
1. Our buyers are motivated. When your home is on the late winter market, the buyers you’ll encounter are far more serious and are committed to finding a home as soon as possible.
2. There’s less competition. Many people take their homes off the market during the winter, which reduces inventory in an already low-inventory market. That means you’ll have less competition and your listing will get the attention of all the buyers who are out there fighting for homes.

3. The selling season starts in late January. During the holidays, the market tends to slow down, but once January hit this year, we received a record number of calls. This season will last until the end of spring, so take advantage of it now.
4. You can show off your home’s unique features. Imagine: Some night when it’s dark, you can show off your cozy family room, where interested buyers can picture themselves cuddling up with a blanket while they watch their favorite movie.
5. Low inventory. We have the lowest inventory in our market that I’ve seen in 17 years.
